Pastor Barry Randolf
Board Member

Barry Randolph is the Pastor of the Episcopal Church of the Messiah.  Under his leadership the congregation has grown from 41 members in 2002 to nearly 200 members today. Most of these new members are African-American males between the ages of 16 to 30.

Rev. Randolph is also the executive director of the B.L.V.D. Harambee. Programs under Harambee include the senior food pantry where 150 seniors are fed each week; Fitness and nutrition which provides nutrition and aerobic classes three times a week; an after-school program for elementary students called Bound Together Detroit; a computer based tutoring program aimed at middle and high school students. All of these programs are free to the public.

As he carries out his heartfelt passion of serving God and man, Pastor Randolph has become a renowned community activist recognized around the world.  He’s still amazed when he receives a call from Germany, England, or even as close as California!  To it all he says “I can see the hand of God working from the physical (the housing corporation) and spiritual (the church) plane at the same time.”
